Tara Starling has been a celebrity makeup artist in the Hollywood film & television industry for over 15 years, working with some of the world’s top actors, musicians, and athletes.  She has lent her talents to over 40 films, many of which have garnered Emmys, MTV Movie Awards, People’s Choice Awards, and Best Picture titles at film festivals the world over. Her work spans many genres, including film, television, music videos, commercial print, editorial, and corporate.

Tara is known as The Beauty Architect, and provides women the blueprints and tools to transform themselves and their lives from the inside-out. No longer content to merely make women “look beautiful” on the outside, she now brings to bear her genius in image and beauty architecture–along with her talent to distill and communicate liberating truths in a dynamic, unforgettable way–to help women Debunk the Beauty Myth, Take Back Beauty, and live as the Star of the Own Lives.

In addition to being a #1 Best-Selling author (she co-authored “Living Proof: Celebrating the Gifts that Came Wrapped in Sandpaper” with Lisa Nichols of “The Secret”,) Tara is highly sought after speaker and addresses women of all ages as well as corporate groups.

Tara is the leader of the TAKING BACK BEAUTY MOVEMENT, a growing social movement that aims to: 1) Debunk the powerful beauty myths of society and the media which keep women trapped in self-destructive beliefs about their beauty and worth, 2) Catalyze a shift that will change society’s definition of Beauty from solely how we look to how we live, and 3) Compel the media and beauty industries to depict women and market their products in a way that is socially responsible.

In 2001, Tara created Anastasia’s Attic, a vintage-vogue boutique in Salt Lake City, Utah that specializes in creating extraordinary beauty and magic from everyday moments and in bringing elegance, grace, and timeless charm into the modern life-style.  ”Be the Beauty” is the charity organization of Anastasia’s Attic, and each month the store collects specific donations from it’s customers to benefit different local non-profit organizations.

Tara is also a co-founder of SOUL FOOD USA, a non-profit organization that organizes community volunteers to make hundreds of sandwiches every month and hand-deliver them, along with love, affirmation, and respect, to the homeless in city shelters and on the streets.

While she aspires to have her own petting zoo in the future, Tara currently has a highly opinionated pigmy goat that does tricks, and a sweet white Persian cat that steals hair clips daily.  Chocolate is Tara’s favorite food group, and she still has dreams of becoming a dolphin trainer one day. Her deepest desire is to see a world where women everywhere are deeply connected to their true beauty and worth, and live the lives of power, influence, and meaning that they are destined for.
